Hoatzins, a type of prehistoric birds, are easily seen in trees surrounding the lodge. Numerous other species of macaws, parrots, and parakeets, as well as toucans, trogons, woodpeckers, herons, storks, birds of prey, and hummingbirds, are abundant. You will be amazed by the beauty and diversity of the birds of this region of Ecuador.

Kayaking through the Amazon Rainforest

Hike to the Ceiba Giant Trees
The trees of the Ecuadorian Amazon are truly impressive. A hike through the forest near Green Forest Ecolodge brings you face to face with massive trees reaching up to 40 meters (120 feet) high. Many have grown for centuries near the Cuyabeno River.
The mighty Ceiba tree is one of the largest you will ever see. These jungle trails go through primary rainforest, where you may also encounter monkeys, birds, and other jungle wildlife.
